Biografía
Carlos Cid (1965), photographer and video artist from Madrid, consolidates his career between 1994 and 2006 by successive stays in New York, Havana, London and Berlin, cities that offer good opportunities as well as exhibitions, nurture and shape their gaze. Perhaps for that reason, his mature work has permeated the trip as a concept and a certain universalist attitude search essentially beyond borders.
Carlos Cid is a prolific author, producing very large, however, we can say that their last six series seamlessly reflect the size of its work, its aesthetic and conceptual purposes: Absence, Fear & Love, The void of insanity City, interior, Kaizen and Liv deep and tender offer reflections on various topics, but do not shoot, fruit of a journey of amazing consistency, where the representation is subject to emotion and atmosphere to the point where photography becomes disregard the wishes, beliefs and fears of the author ... Carlos Cid has shown his work in galleries and art centers in Madrid, New York, Havana, Amsterdam, Kanazawa (Japan), Helsinki, Miami, Chicago and Basel (Switzerland). He has also participated in fairs and PHotoEspaña, Photo London, Artesantander, Photo Miami, Scope Basel and ARCO. In 2009 he participated in the Festival of Photography and Video Foconorte. His work is collected in public and private collections and has been honored on numerous occasions. He currently lives and works in Madrid.a.
